Museum Pusat Peragaan Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi
It was established in 2002 by minister of research and technology in Kota Baru Parahyangan, West Java. The museum itself is under and support the sundial on the top of the museum, and it is break the MURI record because of the largest sundial in Indonesia. Elements or the sun clock to the top of the building length is 30 M. When the sunlight highlighted, the clock will cause a shadow to the horizontal and vertical planes, and to function as a sundial.
By Lyman Group as a developer, the museum is designed as a single unit with a new city gate Parahyangan. Conceptually the gate, a replica of the earth, and hours of sun symbolize the constellation the Sun-Earth-Moon. In the main gate of Kota Baru Parahyangan, there are replicas of the Earth in the form of intact cobble stone diameter of 2 meters. Stone weighing 12 tons was taken from Padalarang area as well, which is known to have many rocky hill is the favorite stone miners. The round stone surrounded by 12 pillars symbolizing the 12 months. At each pole there are the traditional decorative calendars from various regions at Indonesia and abroad. Inside the museum, there are hundreds of props that can be tried by visitors and most props are enabled to act out experiments related to physics. There are also other props such as biological sciences are also present in the building. |
